Charles Lee Ray, more commonly known as Chucky, is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the Child's Play horror franchise. He is a doll possessed by the spirit of a serial killer.
Chucky made his first appearance in the 1988 film Child's Play. Before becoming trapped in the body of a "Good Guy" doll, Charles Lee Ray was a notorious serial killer who transferred his soul into the doll using a voodoo spell to escape being killed by police.
Throughout the franchise, Chucky relentlessly pursues his goal of transferring his soul into a human host, often targeting Andy Barclay, the original child who owned the doll. The character is known for his sadistic sense of humor and penchant for graphic violence.
